Assembly pictures of Chicago's E-One Cyclone II Pumper scale model

Producing a replica of the Chicago Fire Department E-One Cyclone II Engines that is small enough to take home, is a painstaking process. Over 13 months, each of the hundreds of intricately detailed parts are designed, cast or fabricated, painted, decorated, and trimmed...then organized in small bins, ready for assembly. There is no substitute for the laborious tasks that each of the 35 skilled men and women perform. It is a sight to see as each team member patiently adheres each part to another, consistently analyzing the end result. As you scroll down the assembly pictures, take notice of the parts on each workstation and you will gain a greater appreciation for the process. And don't forget to add this modern workhorse to your Chicago collection.

About Engine 102 by Joe O'Brien

Engine 102 “The Border Patrol” was organized in 1906 in Rogers Park. Engine 102 moved into the former quarters of Truck 25 at 7077 N. Clark, which was the former Town hall of Rogers Park. In 1915 a new two story two brick firehouse was built at 1725 Greenleaf, Both Engine 102 and Truck 25 moved into this house that was built for motorized rigs. Today both Engine 102 and Truck 25 are in a new 3 bay station at 7340 N. Clark St. and both are running new E-one rigs.
