    Another Classic Pacesetter!

Posted by Chief Michael L. Kuk on 6th Jul 2021

Here's a special model for the collection! When Chicago first added these Hurricane based cabs and chassis to the fleet, it was a special step forward. The cab was spacious for a full crew, and it was easy for the firefighters to mount and dismount, as the doors and running boards were close to the ground. Overall, they were practical apparatus for the firefighters. The rig drivers liked the extremely large windshield, especially when they were navigating dense traffic, or spotting a hydrant hookup. Notice the Storz fitting on the front of the cab and the rear step panel. Innovation for sure! Fortunately Chicago had E-One make both engines and aerials that sported these cabs, and their novel features added to the success of each rig's operational capabilities. Fire Replicas has added another highly detailed model to the long history of unique apparatus gracing the Chicago Fire Department roster!!!
